Duties
This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Assistant Administrator - Permitting and Taxation/National Revenue Center.
As a Clerk (Office Automation), you will:
- Assign claim numbers and maintains claim number log in spreadsheet format.
- Maintain log for brewery quadrennial bonds and/or collateral bonds.
- Serve as a consultant and reference source to other clerks in answering questions encountered in their work.
- Serve as the unit timekeeper. Verifies employee timesheets; prepares time and attendance for supervisors' approval; enters time and attendance information into the Bureau's timekeeping system; and transmits approved records to appropriate office.
- Utilize spreadsheets to assign and maintain control of all permit numbers for applications received in the unit.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Utilizing computer systems to enter data and prepare reports; OR
-Reviewing files or documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
OR Education: You may substitute education for experience as follows: four (4) years of education above the high school level. (Please attach copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.)
OR A combination of experience and education: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100%. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to six months of specialized experience.
Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the
