This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance. As an Administrative Management Specialist, you will be you will assist management officials in the office by carrying out a wide range of administrative and management support functions, allowing the Office to function in a more organized and efficient manner.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Coordinate with travelers to complete all aspects required for domestic and international travel, including but not limited to working with the traveler to: develop an itinerary, create travel authorizations, write justifications to meet requirements for approval by leadership, Public Affairs and Ethics, track approval process for travel requests through completion, and assist with vouchers to ensure timely submissions of same. Participate in special projects and assignments and assist the team in a wide variety of management functions. Receive, research, analyze, and prepare a variety of administrative or special and recurring one-time reports or retrieve and analyze data on issues relating to other topics for review with management. Identify significant trends, problem areas, and the need to modify various program requirements to improve the services offered by the Office. Analyze and evaluate (on a qualitative and quantitative basis) interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity, and establish criteria to measure and or predict the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to develop new or modified work methods, records, and files, management processes, procedures for administering program services, guidelines and procedures, and automating work processes.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following: experience using automated office systems (word processing, databases, graphics presentation, internet-posting documents, spreadsheet software on a personal computer); experience with records or office management; and experience in making travel arrangements. OR EDUCATION: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: Master's (or equivalent graduate degree) or completed 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent degree. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.
