About the Position: This is a permanent position with Army Clinic Moncrief. Moncrief Army Health Clinic is located on Fort Jackson, South Carolina and is part of the 82 square mile military installation located adjacent to the state capital of Columbia.

Duties

Conduct a telephone or in-person interview with the service member for essential information, such or, name, social security number, unit address, and other details. Reviews copies of personnel documents when available. Initiate requests for records or information from other sources, as deemed necessary, to provide complete factual data for use by physician and Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Office (PEBLO) in developing and processing cases. Perform other clerical support tasks within the section. Schedules appointments with clinics for medical examinations and physician reviews of medical conditions upon request from the unit and as required by regulatory proceedings covering events of injury/illness

Requirements

  • Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain PEBLO Certification within Six (6) Months of start date.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (You must submit transcripts) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (You must submit transcripts) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Health Records ManagementOffice Operations Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
