Timely, effective communication with Veterans is critical to the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Connected Health modalities like VA's Online Personal Health Record, My Healthy Vet, Secure Messaging, VA Apps and self-management programs like Annie can be utilized to communicate with Veterans in a timely and relevant manner using technology.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following: Establishes, develops, and implements, at the direction or in conjunction with the Connected Health Coordinator, local MyHealtheVet-related goals, strategies to meet goals, identifies responsible parties, tracks progress, including monitoring goals/activity status, and assists in the development of reports status/progress to medical center management. Assists in establishing and managing communications plans that identify target audiences, appropriate messages, activities, and resources needed for effective communication, and effective communications plan for change management, incorporate multiple channels to manage expectations and disseminate project progress. Assists the Connected Health Coordinator to lead the facility's efforts to integrate My HealtheVet and Secure Messaging among health care providers and patients. Assists with new employee orientation duties /need for various facilities outside of Grand Island. Assists the Connected Health Coordinator in developing presentations and then deliver presentations to all levels of the VAMC/HCS, service organizations, and veterans familiy members and caregivers. Assist with professional, technical and support personnel to coordinate clinical and business functions for the Connected Health Program Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm buy hours may change based on need. This may be discussed further during interview process. Position Description Title/PD#: Program Support Assistant/PD23455A Physical Requirements: Work involves climbing ladders, poles, towers, or structures. Good hand and eye coordination are required. Repairs are made on equipment which may require maneuvering and may require lifting of items up to 50 pounds; occasionally handles heavier items. Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching is required as well as working in hard-to-reach places and in awkward positions. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: coordinating projects, data collection and management, performing trend analysis or related studies, establishing and maintaining databases, conducting research, communicating with program and/or project personnel, Creating processes and procedures to ensure program effectiveness; interpreting, analyzing and responding to requests for information, utilizing automated software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc) There is no educational substitution for the GS-07 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
