About the position: Assigned to Bowling Center on Langley AFB, VA. Flexible position guaranteed 0 hours per week but can work up to 40 hours per week.
The primary purpose of position is to perform and/or assist other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of Langley Bowling Center. This position is a growth position to PSN 70151 Recreation Assistant, NF-0189-02. Incumbent will be noncompetitively promoted upon successful completion of 6 months at this level.
Duties
Responsible for manning the customer service desk within the bowling center.
Assigns lanes to be used, operates control console, rents shoes and sells items in the pro shop.
Assists with conducting inventories of pro shop items may be required to assist with snack bar inventory resale items, facility equipment and other supply items.
Informs supervisor of equipment malfunctions as well as other items needing maintenance or repair.
Assists Recreation Assistant and/or Manager with league activities.
Assists with ensuring activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up and rules and regulations are observed.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifying Experience:
Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Math proficiency is highly desirable. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however no experience is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
