As a IT Specialist (Network) at the GS-2210-13, you will be part of CIO Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and securing all implementations and enhancements to the OPM IT remote access network infrastructure.
Duties
Setup and securing VPN Configurations.
Develop, modify, and test overall system backup and recovery strategies for assigned systems.
Perform lifecycle management actions including audits, software maintenance and renewals, vendor relations, end of life platform maintenance and replacement.
Evaluating the effectiveness and performance of OPM’s LAN, WAN, VPN, Azure and iBoss SSE environments.
Defining the enhancements to be built into remote access and SSE services, developing technical strategies to achieve those goals including implementation details.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies. Do you have:1. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Additional requirements:
For the GS 13: You must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (or equivalent) performing ALL of the following tasks:
1) Conducting evaluations of available technology; and
2) Developing operating policies and procedures for network administrators; and
3) Evaluating the effectiveness and performance of LAN, WAN, VPN, Azure and iBoss SSE environments. Note: Your resume must fully support this experience; and
4) Providing direct technical support and expertise for Virtual Private Network(VPN) infrastructure, core routing services, iboss Secure Service Edge(SSE), software Defined Wide Area Networking(SWDWAN) solution and the integration of these technologies with the Microsoft Azure Cloud Service Platform(CSP).
