Duties
You will be responsible for providing the highest degree of analysis and decision support to Marine Corps senior leaders for analysis and evaluation of Marine Corps and Marine Corps-related Navy programs.
You will provide leadership on highly complex, unprecedented problems of critical importance, and handle assignments that involve a broad and general responsibility for accurate data collection and analysis.
You will conducts projects or studies of major importance to agency programs and operations that have national and international impact on the Marine Corps.
You will personally prepares or directs the preparation of reports, which include charts, graphs and other tabular representations of data, with narrative descriptions of the study methodology, findings, and problems encountered.
You will independently plans projects to solve technical problems for which definitions, methods, and/or data are highly incomplete, controversial, or uncertain.
You will provide independent, fiscally focused analysis and recommendations on studies, policies, and capability documents produced by other HQMC Departments, the other Services and external agencies to include OSD and the Joint Staff.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP-SECRET/SCI clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Perform fiscally focused analysis and recommendations on studies, policies, and capability documents; Determines schedules, costs and operational risk of existing and proposed programs; Consult with management on high value analysis projects; Develop comprehensive assessments of specific program validity, cost and affordability to provide timely advice and insights to senior leaders.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual for the GS-1515, Professional Operations Research Series.
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
