GS-07: $46,696 (Step 01) to $60,703 (Step 10)
NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.
Duties
As an Administrative Operations Assistant within the National Wildlife Health Center, some of your specific duties will include:
Utilize an automated financial system to determine status of invoices, payments, and suspense items, reconcile and adjust bankcard statements, as well as to ensure proper processing of payments.
Prepare, process, and track requests for office supplies, equipment, and services.
Prepare routine travel reservations, authorizations and vouchers using an automated travel system.
Review and verify timecards using an automated timekeeping system and prepare corrections.. Enters or extracts information in financial, personnel, payroll travel, and training systems, as well as local administrative databases/websites.
Maintain office records according to established filing and records management procedures.
Receive visitors, answer, and direct phone calls, and prepare office correspondence.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible for an appointment under the Pathways Recent Graduate Program you must meet the following requirements:
You must be a recent graduate who has completed, within the previous two years, an associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution such as an accredited technical or vocational school; a 2- or 4-year college or university; a graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school); or a post-secondary home school curriculum. Note: Certificate program is defined as post-secondary education in a qualifying educational institution equal to at least one academic year of full-time study that's part of an accredited college-level, technical, trade, vocational, or business school curriculum.
Veterans who were precluded from applying due to their military service obligation begin their 2-year eligibility period upon release or discharge from active duty; however, eligibility for these veterans cannot exceed 6 years from the date on which the degree or certificate was obtained. The date of release or discharge from active duty should be later than the date the degree or certificate was obtained.
Qualification Requirements
For GS-06:
Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-6 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service.
Example of GS-5 level work: Performs standard and nonstandard assignments involving different and unrelated processes or methods in varying sequence; work requires extensive knowledge of rules, operations, or business practices. Follows accepted practices in resolving nonrecurring problems and meeting deadlines; completed products are evaluated for effectiveness in meeting goals; extensive guidelines in the form of instructions, manuals, and regulations are applied.
For GS-07:
Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-7 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service.
Examples of GS-6 level work: 1) Processes a wide variety of transactions subject to different sets of rules and regulations. Regarded as an expert source of information on processing transactions; completed work is reviewed for conformance with policy and regulatory requirements; numerous and varied guidelines are adapted and applied; 2) Performs a segment of the evaluative work of an administrative function; identifies issues or problems and seeks alternative solutions consistent with applicable regulations. Works independently in completing assignments; completed work is reviewed for effectiveness in meeting goals; guidelines such as regulations, evaluation criteria, and precedents have gaps in specificity.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
