Duties
Identifies training needs, develop and/or acquire responsive programs, instruct, evaluate results, and provide broad range of advice and assistance to Bureau and field officials. Reviews needs and plans for and acquire all resources necessary to accomplish training programs and will carry out planning and liaison functions with other Federal agencies, i.e., OMB, GAO, OPM, DOJ, FLETC and other correctional agencies. Responsible for developing policy, providing expert advice in an area of correctional specialty or provide guidance, direction, supervision, advice and/or evaluation for a program or programs in correctional facilities. Responsible for administration of nationwide training programs, conferences, and meetings; writing and analyzing policies, procedures and directives affecting the Bureau training programs. Recommend new and revised training concepts and procedures for use at the national level.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this level. OR Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience in identifying training needs, developing and/or acquiring responsive programs, instructing, evaluating results, and providing a broad range of advice and assistance to management.
Experience reviewing training needs/training programs and recommending changes and modifications to existing programs to meet organizational needs.
Experience in the administration of nationwide training programs, conferences, and meetings.
Experience in the development of policy, procedures and directives relating to training programs.
Experience in the management of a training operation to include acquiring resources to accomplish training programs, managing the program budget, and the acquisition of equipment and supplies to accomplish a training program.
