Duties
Assists with planning, organization, coordination, directions and helps integrate the work of staff responsible for a wide range of item planning activities
Provides operational control and support to the Branch to accomplish responsibilities for planning
Provides logistics support to authorized activities for assigned commodities and for developing and implementing innovative supply support solutions
Helps develop and presents recommendations for changes or enhancements to programs to improve customer support
Applies a comprehensive knowledge of planning missions, functions and programs in order to supervise operations, analyze trends affecting planning, and provide comprehensive customer support
Monitors the collection, consolidation and analysis or metrics and data used to inform Branch Chief regarding the viability, effectiveness and efficiency of organization programs

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Incorporating methods of managing teams and implementing new planning tools
- Analyzing trends that are affecting item planning activities and providing comprehensive customer and agency support for assigned programs
- Evaluating the effectiveness of current tools, policies and processes in order to recommend improvements in the Planning process
- Experience with demand, supply and material support planning
- Experience in planning and coordinating material actions
