This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Washington, DC of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support by researching, analyzing, creating and establishing program and project management reports and research summaries in support of the Community Affairs Branch. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Perform and provides research and quantitative and qualitative analysis on community affairs programs and activities including special projects that are technical in nature. Develop summary reports about external organizations that work in the fields of community development and economic inclusion on key topics, including by conducting external contacts, interviews and data analysis in consultation with senior staff and DCP research.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for CG-12, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-11 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting with conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analysis as it relates to assessment of community affairs activities and programs; and developing written materials including but not limited to: summary reports, responding to inquiries, and/or web-based content. To qualify CG-13, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analysis as it relates to assessment of community affairs activities and programs; developing written materials including but not limited to: summary reports, responding to inquiries, and/or web-based content; and providing recommendations and advice to senior management.   Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
