This position is in the Cooperative Studies Program (CSP), located at the Edwards Hines Jr. VA Hospital, in Hines, IL The CSP is the division of the VA Office of Clinical Sciences Research and Development (CSR&D).
Duties

Major Duties:
Coordinates the Hines recruitment process from inception to completion.
Oversees new employee onboarding
Coordinates the clearance process for exiting employees, providing forms and guidance
Provides oversight of center needs related to facilities, engineering and environment of care
Manages equipment, furniture, and supplies for CSP
Provides support and manages program level travel administration and meeting coordination
Writes job aides to describe administrative work processes and modifies as needed
Provides training and troubleshooting for staff in administrative and business processes
Manages procurement process from purchase to reconciliation using credit card
Performs inventory of regularly used office items and places order for supplies
Assist and serves as the backup to center Budget Analyst
Assist in formulating annual center and study budget requirements
Prepares a variety of reports regarding the status of funds, expenses, and obligations
Develops initiatives that enhance processes
Analyze employee survey results.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00AM - 4:30PM

EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes coordinates recruitment process for organization; oversees new employee onboarding; manages organizations travel and meeting coordination programs; manages procurement process for the organization; and assists with organizations budget program. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

EDUCATION SUBSTUTION: Possess successful completion of a master's degree or two (2) full years of graduate level education leading to such a degree in a related field of study that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possess the equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education (beyond the first year) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position (as described above).
