This vacancy is for a Digital Content Specialist in the International Trade Administration , Global Markets, within the Department of Commerce to serve as the Director of Digital Content.
Duties
As an Director of Digital Content, you will perform the following duties:
Oversees digital communication and content production, quality assurance, and management across GM business units; advises the senior leadership on digital content management; collects, coordinates, and analyzes digital content and quality assurance needs; and guides the application of that information in the refinement and delivery of GM's digital content and information products.
Develops new methods and approaches in planning, integrating, and evaluating digital content programs. Applies complex and dynamic digital content and quality assurance principles, methods, practices, and techniques; analytical methods, and interpersonal relationship practices to develop and enhance programs involving interaction with external and internal customers and stakeholders, facilitate external communication, and provide outstanding customer service to all clients.
Manages the long-rang planning for, and day-to-day establishment and communicating of internal procedures and work processes; attendance at senior staff meetings. Advises Global Markets senior leadership and ensures necessary linkages are made with other GM and ITA divisions and business units, including ITA's Office of Public Affairs (OPA) to ensure a strong level of situational awareness is promoted on relevant topics.
Provides technical and administrative supervision to the OSE Communications and Marketing digital content team. Plans work assignments in pursuit of unit and team goals. Is responsible for the quality and completion of work produced by the team. Conducts mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews in a timely manner. Recommends employees for appropriate recognition.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-14 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience leading an organization's communications and marketing efforts; and
Experience in designing digital products for the purpose of digital communications and engagement, including development of digital strategies; and
Experience using analytical methods and procedures to research and advise management on digital marketing impact and digital product delivery and integration to achieve organizational goals; and
Experience planning, directing, and evaluating work of subordinate managers, employees, and/or others.
