This position is located at Yosemite National Park in the Safety and Occupational Health Branch. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately February to December, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

Duties

Develops, coordinates and administers wellness and DEIA activities, workshops, trainings, and events to engage employees in establishing a culture of wellness and psychological safety. Analyzes health and wellness frameworks and best practices to design a creative, engaging, and effective health and wellness program. Collaborates with internal and external organizations, county governments, partners, and community members to develop partnerships and leverage resources for health and wellness awareness, education, and initiatives. Assists with the development of performance metrics, data collection, and evaluation of program effectiveness, creatively adapting programs as needed to support the needs ot the program and stakeholders. Utilizes the latest available technologies (web portals, social networking, web logs, video conferencing, etc.) to reach a diverse audience of employees, partners, internal and external organizations. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/06/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must be related to the work of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes, but is not limited to: coordinating and administering a health and wellness program, to include activities, workshops, trainings and events designed to support employee health, wellness, and psychological safety. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least successfully completed one full year (18 semester hours) of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. YOU MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS. You must include transcripts. -OR- SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) as evidenced by one of the three following methods: In the upper third of my graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR possession of a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum, or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in my major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. -OR- A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: That when totaled equal 100 percent or more of the qualifications requirement. For example, 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), and 6 months (9 semester hours) of graduate level education described in 1B above. (50% of the qualifying education requirement). YOU MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE:At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must be related to the work of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes, but is not limited to: coordinating and administering a health and wellness program, to include activities, workshops, trainings and events designed to support employee health, wellness, and psychological safety; experience in evaluating program efficiency utilizing metrics and customer and stakeholder feedback to drive program effectiveness and relevance. Experience designing a health and wellness program to meet the organization's objectives and customer/stakeholder demands. Experience guiding the work of volunteers and interns. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completed of least a master's or equivalent graduate degree Or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. YOU MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS. -OR- A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: That when totaled equal 100 percent or more of the qualifications requirement. For example, 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), and 1.5 years (27 semester hours) of graduate level education. (50% of the qualifying education requirement). Only graduate education beyond the first year is creditable. YOU MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS.? Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
