This position is located in the Professional Liability and Financial Crimes Unit of the Legal Division. eDiscovery Specialists in this Unit support attorneys who investigate and litigate professional liability claims and pursues entry of restitution and forfeiture orders in criminal actions related to failed financial institutions. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for CG-11, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 09 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience providing eDiscovery support in investigations or litigation, including the organization and maintenance of electronically stored information through the use of litigation support technology such as Relativity. or EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR COMBINATION of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position   To qualify for CG-12, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience providing eDiscovery support in investigations or litigation, including facilitating the use of assisted review tools and designing advanced search strategies in eDiscovery platforms. such as Relativity. Assisted review tools are defined as the use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) or Active Learning. Advanced search strategies are defined as the use of structured and conceptual analytical tools, including email threading, textual near duplication, clustering, keyword expansion, or similar document detection. Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
