Duties
As a/an Closing Post-Closing Specialist, you will:
Analyze and evaluate both general and specific closing and post-closing laws, regulations, and policies in order to participate in development of closing policy for preservation programs and activities assigned to or undertaken by the Office of Recapitalization.
Initiate closing process by preparing Closing Agendas and Title Instructions for recapitalization transactions, based on detailed review and analysis of approval letters and commitments, and knowledge of real estate settlement practices.
Perform quality control for closing dockets to ensure the docket contains accurate, complete, and consistent documentation of the closed transaction.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: To be qualified for this position at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. This experience is defined as:
- Initiating and coordinating the closing process for real estate transactions with multiple funding sources; and
- Analyzing and evaluating closing or post-closing laws, regulations, or policies related to affordable housing development or preservation programs and activities.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
