You will serve as a Secretary (Office Automation) in the Optical Techniques Department, Code 567000 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will organize the flow of clerical processes in an office.
You will make arrangements for travel, conferences, and meetings (to include teleconference).
You will compose non-technical correspondence.
You will interpret and apply a variety of rules and regulations.
You will demonstrate knowledge of office automation equipment and software.
You will use government purchase card for purchases in accordance with DOD and Navy regulations.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-01/04) or pay band (NC-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: (1) utilizing office automation equipment and processes; (2) performing administrative and clerical duties (e.g., filing, answering phone calls, making appointments); (3) generating reports, typing, ensuring grammatical correctness of correspondence, and ensuring proper routing procedures are followed; (4) providing assistance to others through customer service in an office/business setting; and (5) maintaining calendars.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school; or
- A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
