About the Position: Position is with the US Army Cadet Command, 3rd Brigade Headquarters located in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Duties
Monitor Cadet Command Information Management System (CCMIS)
Responsible for timely and accurate processing of all brigade cadet actions
Perform complete review and process all cadet actions from subordinate units
Prepare Brigade Commander endorsement of actions and track actions
Cross-train personnel for the Brigade Accessions Packet Review Board
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time. May require 6-12 weeks TDY in Support of Cadet Command Summer Training/Employee required to attend C3P0 training 3rd week from EOD at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
- May be required to complete a one year probationary period.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work of this job.
Applicants with current or prior permanent Federal service, must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the second lower grade/level GS-05.Specialized experience is defined as: work that involves reviewing applications to determine eligibility, completing forms and maintaining the military record jackets and maintaining an automated Human Resource system to review applicant material. OR All other candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-06.I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves 1) applying a standard body of military personnel duties, regulations, procedures and operations concerning the preparation of enrollment and contract documents to maintain and update military record jackets for ROTC cadets, and to perform military functions in support of unit military cadre. 2) ROTC organization and functions of the Detachment sufficient to provide regulatory guidance and program eligibility information.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
GS-7: 1 full year of graduate level education
Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)
