Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Tucson Field Office, Mission Support Division, located in Tucson, Arizona.

To meet agency needs, this position will be filled under a time-limited appointment, not-to-exceed (NTE) 2 years, with possible extension(s) for an additional 2 year(s). This is not a permanent appointment, and does not give competitive status. You will be separated when the NTE date of this appointment is reached. Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations (OFO) will allow you to participate in the maintenance, repair, and construction of facilities and tactical infrastructure. This position starts at a salary of $25.68 (WG-08, Step 01) to $29.95 (WG-08, Step 05) with promotion potential to $29.95 (WG-8, Step 05). Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. To minimally qualify for the WG-08 grade level you must meet the Screen Out Element:Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision.To meet the screen out element(s), you should haveexperience performing the following duties: Establishing and sustaining a preventative maintenance program for owned or leased equipment, buildings, and training facilities. Performing repairs, modifications, and testing of new and existing systems and equipment. Performing plumbing maintenance and repairs. Performing routine general maintenance and inspection of buildings, and structures . Conducting minor generalized landscaping and facility upkeep. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
