About the position: This position will be assigned to the 436 FSS/FSR - NAF Accounting Office.
This position is considered Regular Part-Time. You are guaranteed 20 hours, however you could work up to 40 hours per week. As a Regular Part-Time employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave and sign up for benefits to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401(k) and NAF Retirement.
Duties
Performs a full range of accounting duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods. Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and to prepare control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers, posting entries to establish accounts. Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Research discrepancies, if necessary to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for accounting services provided, and assigns charges appropriately. Prepares quarterly NAF Purchase Card (P-Card) and Special Morale and Welfare (SM&W) reports for submission to Air Force Services Activity. (AFSVA). Assist with the maintenance of Internal Control Program requirements to protect against fraud, waste, and abuse. Provides advice and guidance to employees and answers technical questions. Serves as Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder for FSS purchases, and Installation Program Coordinator (IPC). Occasionally drives privately owned vehicle (POV) or Government owned vehicle (GOV) to complete surprise cash counts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

- Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in work which provided comprehensive knowledge of fund accounting methods, procedures, and techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts in accounting system encompassing a number of diversified activities; ability to prepare financial settlements and reports.
Must have knowledge of Government Purchase Card Program and purchasing guidelines for appropriated funding.
Knowledge and understanding of the regulations, guides and precedents sufficient to interpret and apply them in a variety of accounting situations.
Knowledge of the accounting system sufficient to flow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the system.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Position is a position of trust.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
