This position is located in the Washington, DC Commuting Area, in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC, within the Bureau for Inclusive Growth, Partnerships and Innovation (IPI), at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Duties
Coordinating and supporting USAID research creation and utilization, and encouraging research best practices through a variety of channels, including coordination of the USAID Research and Development Council.
Providing technical assistance to the Agency on setting and carrying out research priorities that support the establishment, implementation, and evaluation of development objectives.
Analyzing complex research-related and scientific integrity policies and strategies to make plans for, and provide guidance for, Agency-wide application.
Directing and overseeing the mandatory collection, reporting, and analysis of data relating to the Agency's investments in research to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Informing stakeholders of changes in U.S. Government and Agency operations related to research and science policy, interfacing with other government agencies, and conducting leadership briefings on research policy and related issues.
Adapting leadership style to a variety of situations through expert communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage sub-team activities, set and track priorities, and resolve conflicts when they arise.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.

Specialized Experience:
GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: a) Managing international science policy efforts to integrate research into organizational activities; b) Providing technical assistance on setting, implementing, and ensuring the integrity of research practices and policies; c) Coordinating collaborative and cross-sectoral efforts to link research findings to organizational programming, practices, or policies; AND d) Tracking data to contribute to reports and ensure compliance with mandatory reporting requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, relevant to the duties of the position to be filled, including volunteer experience.
