This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA). The incumbent serves as the overall accessibility program manager and expert advisor for the various offices and components that contribute to the overall accessibility program set forth in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert advising the Contract Officer Representatives on EOP-wide contracts for a wide range of accessibility services.
Duties
As a Accessibility Officer, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Oversees the day-to-day operation of accessibility activities to include accessibility services and contracts in support of all components.
Manages the Accessibility Program within the EOP directly related to building requirements.
Advises components, hiring managers, offices and agencies to ensure services and opportunities are accessible to all qualified persons with disabilities.
Advises the COR on contracts related to accessibility programs on the EOP complex.

- The agency requires 30 days on site before being eligible to participate in the telework program.
- Must be able to obtain the Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer's Representative (FAC-COR) Level 1 within three months of hiring.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you must meet the following minimum qualification requirements:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates the following: 1) Reviewing reasonable accommodation requests that involve building modifications; 2) Renovating existing facilities to provide program access; 3) Implementing ADA Standards for Accessible Design; and 4) Briefing leadership and colleagues on how to provide access to current and potential employees.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
