This position is located in Redwood National and State Parks, in the Maintenance Division. This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Duties

Constructs, alters, modifies or repairs a wide range of features in buildings, quarters and other facilities. Constructs storage areas, workrooms, and offices within existing buildings including framework, rafters, joists, insulation, sheet rock, paneling, doors, windows, and flooring. Matches or creates exact reproductions of various components of historic buildings and fixtures. Plans, computes, and lays out projects and identifies material needs. Works from complex instructions, blueprints, sketches and building codes. Operates various carpentry equipment and tools (e.g., routers, band and scroll saws, and drill presses, etc.) and is able to produce finished products with precise fits, accurate dimensions, and acceptable appearance. Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems and water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers, and lay out of such things as angles, arcs, and circles. Responsible for installing new roofs, including metal flashing, gutters, and other roofing accessories, and repair or replace sheathing, boards, beams, and joists.

TECHNICAL PRACTICES (THEORETICAL, PRECISE, AND ARTISTIC) KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.
