About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Project Manager position located in the Programs and Project Management Division, Military Branch, Air Force Section. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in Project Management, and possess a knowledge of USACE programs, to include excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills and be detail-orientated. Experience working with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Duties
Serves as Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned programs and projects.
Coordinates the planning, design, and construction for projects of normal scope and complexity as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public/regulatory issues.
Controls and manages project milestones and budgets. Allocates project funds to district elements, consistent with progress attained, and measures and monitors performance to assure commitments of all parties are being maintained.
Responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, construction, and direction of projects to support a specific functional program.

Specialized Experience for the GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes leading teams, managing scope, schedule, and budget of Military projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
