About the Position: This position is located at US Army Training Support Center (ATSC), Fort Eustis, VA.
Duties
Performs a variety of IT-related services and actions that support the overall divisions responsibility for Army Training Help Desk (ATHD) customer assistance functions.
Serves as the division point of contact for various web-based systems proponents for all information support.
Provide assistance and training to the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) community in the area of new and emerging training technologies.
Responsible for the underlying programming assistance and automation hardware support necessary to accomplish the functions of training design and development in a high technology environment.
Provides support to computer specialists and training developers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing technical assistance to users to minimize computer disruptions (such as customer training) AND 2) identifying corrective actions to be taken for information technology failures; i.e.. computer hardware and software support to resolve operational issues, malfunctions, or user problems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
