Duties
Administer, maintain, and document technical configurations/drawings for numerous physical and virtual Windows/Unix servers supporting cybersecurity for multiple interconnected classified mission system/network enclaves.
Maintain approved system security posture, conduct threat/vulnerability assessments, and conduct system log reviews and correlation through the use of deployed Security Incident Event Monitoring (SIEM) capabilities
Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary team documenting and analyzing complex system/network configurations and/or issues to ensure recommended technical solutions are practical, feasible, sustainable, and secure
Develops courses of actions for all related infrastructure projects and briefs departmental and/or command leadership to meet new cybersecurity or technical guidelines as it pertains to the supported mission systems.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 461 level Management within 12 months of appointment.
- This position has a primary cyber work role of 461 - Systems Security Analyst and Additional Work Roles of 451 - System Administrator and 441 - Network Operations Specialist.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
- Per DoD DoD Directive (DoDD) 8140.01, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing the department(s) with advanced technical support and responsible for planning, installing, administering, and maintaining Command's specialized cybersecurity systems.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Determines the most effective ways to organize documentation for use by experienced specialists in troubleshooting problems.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ability to coordinate amongst civilian, military, and contractor support staff to identify mission impact and communicate recommended corrective actions.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ability to analyze cause of system failures, evaluates processing impact and develops alternatives for all system failures and situations to include "quick fixes" for the resumption of critical system operations.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Applying cyber security principles, methods, and tools to design, develop, implement, and manage systems and data to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability. Practical knowledge of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
Integrating the aforementioned multiple IT specialty areas needed to plan, design and implement systems/networking projects and develop innovative strategies for resolving system/network implementation integration issues.
Analyzing cause of system failures, evaluates processing impact and develops alternatives for all system failures and situations.
GS-12
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Implementing cyber security principles, methods, and tools to design, develop, implement, and manage systems and data to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Developing alternatives for system failures and situations to include "quick fixes" for the restoration of production on multiple mission critical systems/networks.
Providing technical documentation for information systems, networks, and associated applications.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Specialized experience may be substituted for the GS-11 with the following education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree
or
LL.M., if related
