Duties
As the Division Chief for Mission Readiness Operations Division, you will provide development and implementation of key mission support processes for the Sector. Through subordinate supervisors, you will have responsibility over mission support policies, logistics, procurement, workforce and position management, and financial programs and services.
This position starts at a salary of $124,026.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $161,231.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $161,231 (GS-14 Step 10).
Duties and responsibilities include:
Advising a Sector Chief Patrol Agent and other managers on mission support processes; developing overall operational plans, objective and strategies for these processes
Testing, developing and adapting new methods and theories; recommending inclusion or modification for use by other organizations; monitoring and evaluating the delivery and support services to key field managers and employees
Directing and overseeing the execution of budget, logistics, procurement and quality assurance programs; in coordination with the Chief Finance Officer developing, evaluating and improving financial policy, plans and processes
Providing a full range of supervisory functions for a staff that provides a diverse range of mission support services; setting priorities and scheduling completion of work to direct reports; making decisions on problems, communicating performance requirements, evaluating work performance, and recommending recognition of employees
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations objectives;
Assigning and explaining work requirements to subordinate staff will establishing production standards;
Monitoring and analyzing the flow of work throughout the organization;
Developing new or modified administrative program work methods and procedures for delivering effective services to management and employees;
Identifying and recommending solutions to a wide range of problems related to management; Providing confidential support, direction and advice to management and employees;
Overseeing a team that researches, evaluates, prioritizes and recommends solutions for critical and sensitive issues.

You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 12/01/2023.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
