This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Office of Public Engagement. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that Public Engagement stakeholders, including consumer, civil rights, housing counseling, legal aid, community-based, and other nonprofit groups, understand CFPB policy deliverables and have opportunities to inform the agency's work.
Duties
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will:
Stay abreast of laws, regulations, and policies to assess stakeholders' views on current market trends, financial products and services, and recommendations for preferred Bureau action.
Maintain contacts with internal and external stakeholders to monitor developments and emerging issues in the consumer financial protection arena, identify opportunities for engagement, and assess stakeholder reactions to policy proposals.
Elevate policy issues for external and internal stakeholders; convene relevant stakeholders to share and highlight research and policy recommendations; and support the dissemination of resources and the solicitation of public comments to open rulemakings/policies.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: To qualify at CN-60, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the CN-53 level in the Federal service. (For qualification purposes, the CN-53 level is broadly equivalent to the GS-13 level.) For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
Establishing working relationships through frequent meetings, calls, and other methods to support ongoing and proactive communication with key stakeholders to identify potential areas for collaboration and engagement; monitoring developments and emerging issues in the consumer financial protection arena and assessing stakeholder reactions to policy proposals; AND
Analyzing current or evolving topics and events related to consumer financial issues, services, products, and market trends; assisting managers, leaders, and other principals in assessing gaps in current outreach strategy; and identifying new and innovative outreach opportunities; AND
Researching laws, regulations, and policies and assessing stakeholders' views and recommendations on current laws, regulations, policies, market trends, and financial products and services.
