Job opening: Security Assistant

Salary: $48 567 - 63 137 per year
Employment Type: Full-time
You will serve as a Security Assistant of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 9.28% will be added to the stated salary.

Duties

You will implement the HQ USPACOM entry control program by executing policies, practices and procedures to effectively control access to all HQ USPACOM and Legacy spaces. You will coordinate visitor/conference lists with authorized sponsors/security managers and ensure adherence to all mandatory entry requirements. You will work closely with appointed J-code security managers and action officers to ensure visiting or permanent party contractors, civilians and military personnel are authorized access and issued appropriate access control badges. You will monitor all alarmed facilities, Secure Compartmentalized Information Facilities (SCIF); Assessing and coordinating dispatch of USMC/USN Military Police per policy, practices and procedures. You will coordinate with security members, outside agencies and any other personnel that have a vested interest in the security system. You will work closely with the Information Security section to ensure control measures are followed.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Duties related to physical security access control such as authorization requests and security screening. 2) Utilize physical security systems including monitoring alarms/cameras to access situations and initiate responses. 3) Perform functions related to personnel or information security. 4) Maintain or create security files/documentation.
