You will serve as a Supervisory Security Assistant in the HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Duties
You will manage the VCC, VCC security assistants, and the HQ USINDOPACOM entry control program by formulating policies, practices and procedures to effectively control access for all INDOPACOM spaces.
You will draft, review and interpret regulations.
You will serve as the subject matter expert on access/entry requirements, VCC staffing and administrative procedures.
You will conduct studies of requirements, gather data on costs, and time expenditures, and recommend revision of policies to improve operations.
You will plan and coordinate security programs in conjunction with the Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) to ensure access requests by visitors are properly validated and issued in accordance with established procedures.
You will receive, review, validate and process all visit authorization requests and JPAS visit notifications.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing access control or visitor control center operations; 2) Performing a variety of command security program duties which include physical security, personnel security, information security, and industrial security; 3) Leading and/or supervising personnel.
GS-08
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing access control or visitor control center operations; 2) Conducting random physical and and vehicle security screenings to enforce Random Antiterrorism Measures; 3) Inspecting assigned facilities to ensure security processes and methods are operating effectively; 4) Logging, reporting, and correcting discrepancies or anomalies related to Integrated Physical Security System (IPSS); 5) Reviewing clearance request forms and reports of background investigations to detect obvious errors or omissions in the information.
