You will serve as a TECHNOLOGY INSERTION MANAGER in the COMMAND TRANSFORMATION DEPARTMENT (Code 100TO) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will implement new technology to reduce duration and increase efficiency on availabilities by reducing the new technology insertion cycle time.
You will provide both administrative and technical supervision for personnel involved in the development and insertion of new technological advancements for shipboard overhaul, repair, maintenance, and testing of naval nuclear ships.
You will assign work to subordinates, and ensure subordinates adhere to the timeline commitments for technology insertion and communicate with senior management when roadblocks occur that need to be addressed.
You will continually solicit a variety of inputs from projects, shop, and codes to understand shipyard capability gaps and assist with fielding existing and emerging technologies into the Shipyard that meet the highest priority needs.
You will work with a network of innovation providers to determine effective and feasible solutions to meet goals and objectives.
You will elevate and help resolve roadblocks to innovation and technology insertion.
You will serve as the conduit for timely information flow from outside organizations to internal stakeholders regarding upcoming technology showcases, technology demonstration events, and other opportunities related to new technologies.
You will serve as the process owner for the emerging process of technology insertion.
You will be responsible for developing, presenting, and getting Shipyard agreement on the technology insertion process and steps involved in bringing new technologies into the Shipyard.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- The position requires significant wa1king, stooping, bending, climbing of stairs and ladders, and carrying of light objects.
- The work of this position is split between time spent in an office environment and regular visits to industrial work areas including ships, submarines, dry docks, piers, and industrial shop areas.
- Travel is required by this position, and may include extended TDY (Temporary Duty) at other work locations including foreign locations, e.g. Japan.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying and analyzing emerging technology to recommend and implement technological solutions in shipboard overhaul, repair, maintenance, or testing for the effective modernization of the fleet.
