You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE, RESOURCES AND ASSESSMENT DIVISION, SUPPLY BRANCH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will provide status of material deliveries and follow up on overdue material.
You will contact vendors for incorrect or incomplete deliveries.
You will make recommendations on long lead time material, critical spare parts, recurring requirements for IDIQ contracts.
You will purchase material/services within Government Purchase Card warrant authority..
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will purchase material/services within Government Purchase Card warrant authority.
- This is a bargaining unit status position
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Knowledge and skill in the principles and theories of material procurement process 2) Accountability of materials 3) Ability to use automated information systems to transfer data requirements 4) Ability to work independently with minimum oversight.
