About the Position: As a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program Prevention Specialist (SAR WF), you are responsible for the planning, execution, coordination, and evaluation of prevention activities and training, education, and outreach efforts to prevent sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Duties

As SHARP Program Prevention Specialist (SAR SW), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Analyze, assess, and clearly communicate program objectives, policies, operations, and resource data to ensure efficiency in the development and execution of the command’s SHARP-related activities. Conduct environmental scans and determine the manner or type of needs assessment that is most appropriate. Use professional knowledge to compile and analyze data that summarizes trends, prevalence, incidences and outcome within the community. Develop a comprehensive prevention plan that includes prevention activities that span across the socio-ecological model. Incorporate this plan into existing CR2C working group action plans. Identify efficiencies in primary prevention development and delivery. Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA), ACOMs or higher-level command and local policies and directives. Use professional knowledge to support the command’s integrated prevention efforts to include planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes against sexual harassment and sexual assault. Provide professional consultation services, advice and assistance to commanders and requesting staff on complex technical problems within the command pertaining to the SHARP Program. Represent the organization in collaboration efforts, at briefings, and at other meetings to present SHARP Program prevention initiatives and implementation plans, SHARP Program prevention plan design, SHARP Program prevention impact findings, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Mission essential position.
  • Must have a valid State Driver's license.
  • May be required to work overtime, nights and weekends.
  • May be required to work SHARP on call.

  • SHARP Background Checks.
  • SHARP State criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC).
  • Temporary duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Note: You must submit transcripts. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience Statement To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work which includes the planning, execution/coordination and evaluation of prevention activities (policies, programs and practices), training, education, and outreach for sexual harassment and sexual assault; the coordination and implementation of comprehensive primary prevention activities that address individual, interpersonal, organizational and community factors that contribute to sexual harassment and sexual assault Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
