Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for legal report record-keeping in the Special Proceeding Division in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
Typical work assignments will include:
- Ensures information is entered timely and accurately into databases and systems.
- Requests or develops new or modified reports to meet changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Extracts statistical data on a regular schedule or ad hoc basis in reviewing information to ensure it is complete and accurate.
- Utilizes automation techniques to produce valid and reliable data and data analyses based on the specific needs of the requestor.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
To qualify as a GS-06 Docketing Technician, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 Federal level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience is defined as inputting and updating information into databases and automated systems; performing queries to produce statistical data and data analyses, such as tables, graphs and charts; receiving, reviewing and analyzing incoming files and documents; reviewing reports to identify errors and respond to inquiries; and conducting case reviews.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
