About the Position: Serves the as the Strategic Planning Coordinator for the Regional Planning and Environment South Division (RPEDS) under the RPEDS Chief.
Duties
Identifies and evaluates strategic, short- and long-term operations and execution, and results achieved.
Coordinates and recommends changes in plans, policies and objectives based on continuous observation and analysis of assigned functions to ensure efficient and effective support to the RPEDS mission.
Plans, organizes, and coordinates with key leaders on strategic methods in accomplishing program objectives and goals.
Utilizes expert knowledge to assess RPEDS missions and functions to identify core capabilities that are essential in meeting command responsibilities.
Develops policies, goals, and guidance for implementation of assigned programs, especially those that have region-wide implication.
Considers and determines intent of new guidance from higher commands and incorporates guidance into appropriate guidelines to be followed across the region.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 20% of the time.
- Appointment to this position may be subject to a one-year probationary period.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Identifying and evaluating strategic, short- and long-term operations and execution, and results achieved, AND 2) Preparing various planning documents on existing and proposed Civil Works projects, AND 3) Developing policies, goals, and guidance for implementation of assigned programs, especially those that have region-wide implications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-13 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-12 level.
