About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Perform supervisory personnel management functions with technical and administrative supervision over civilian employees.
Oversee a 130 member military and civilian workforce that provides medical maintenance, total life cycle management, quality assurance and control of medical maintenance.
Plan, direct, coordinate, and implement the acquisition strategy and full life cycle sustainment requirements for biomedical devices.
Provide recommendations to senior management officials in making long-range policies concerning areas such as staffing and facilities, projecting stock inventory, and determining test equipment requirements.
Utilize logistics automation systems to data mine, extract, analyze, forecast, and publish medical maintenance performance related reports.
Develop a synchronized process to ensure the seamless merger/transfer of biomedical devices/systems processed through procurement plan to an end product delivered to the core staff.
Develop an execution strategy for receipt, acceptance, short-term storage, issue/install and training for all biomedical devices/systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate that you possess at least one year of specialized experience which includes directing and managing the work of other employees, overseeing medical device acquisition and life cycle, and collecting or interpreting data from automated logistics systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
