This position is located in the Professional Liability and Financial Crimes Section of the Litigation Branch in the Legal Division of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The Section investigates and litigates professional liability claims and pursues entry of restitution and forfeiture orders in criminal actions related to failed financial institutions.
Duties
Serve as program manager for all discovery activities related to professional liability investigations and litigation and financial crimes matters under the supervision of the Assistant General Counsel. Program activities include planning, managing, executing, and timely, accurately and independently completing complex discovery activities for the Section in connection with professional liability investigations and litigation and financial crimes matters.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Leading litigation support teams in connection with professional liability investigations and litigation, including planning, using and overseeing projects using assisted review tools and advanced search strategies in eDiscovery platforms and other case projects requiring use of best practices in document control, discovery, and the organization and maintenance of electronically stored information. Assisted review tools are defined as the use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) or Active Learning. Advanced search strategies are defined as the use of structured and conceptual analytical tools, including email threading, textual near duplication, clustering, keyword expansion, or similar document detection.
