THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a MILITARY & FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5701400 and is part of the FL DCSPER, National Guard.
Duties
As a, MILITARY & FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, You will serve as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) for the Army National Guard to maximize retention and readiness. Provide input to develop, articulate, and implement the Family Readiness Program at the State level, inclusive of family readiness, family assistance, employment outreach, volunteer training and management and improvement of quality of life and well-being of Service members and families. Conduct needs assessments to determine requirements. Collect and organize volunteer, family, and other related data, submit data and information through the State Family Program Director or Supervisory Family Support Services Specialist. Implement and maintain computer entry system to support reporting, for retrieval, and dissemination. Ensure accurate and timely input into the NGB-approved system of record for all applicable Service Members and Family case information, unit support, community outreach, training provision, volunteer management and other Family Program data. Coach, mentor and train junior staff. Conduct briefings at the local, unit and state levels to provide necessary information to leadership, commanders, Soldiers, Families, Soldier and Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs) and community partners and stimulate interest and support to build program and community capacity. FRSAs are a component of the Commander's unit Family readiness program, and support Family Readiness goals at the state and unit levels. They provide administrative and logistical support to the Brigade Commander in support of their Unit Readiness Program, and training and volunteer program support within the State Family Program Office at the Joint Forces Headquarters. NG FRSAs are responsible for volunteer management and training, and support Family readiness, adaptability and resilience training under the Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness Program to NG Family members.

- Weekend work will be required- Will be required to work weekends during drill, annual training and deployment assemblies.

ARE OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements for the Military & Family Program.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided the following: experience utilizing automated systems; experience providing technical assistance and guidance to National Guard service members and families pertaining to entitlements and benefits; experience planning and executing Family Readiness Programs such as (but not limited to) Crisis Management, Legal, Financial, Tricare, ID/DEERS at a state National Guard level. Experience coordinating efforts in family readiness programs that may have included employment outreach, volunteer training and management and quality of life and the well-being of Service members and families. Experience briefing leaders and Commanders on the status of a unit's Family Program.
