This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT SERVICES SPECIALIST - Title 32, Position Description Number D1458000 and is part of the WI 115 OSS, Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Duties

As a FLIGHT SERVICES SPECIALIST - Title 32, GS-2101-9, you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining liaison with military, federal, and local agencies concerning airspace utilization, flying operations, aircraft emergencies, search and rescue operations, and natural disasters. This full- performance level position provides direct support to unit and other military and civilian aircrews during scheduled and unscheduled flying and ground activities. The incumbent works independently on standard and extended and/or rotating shifts to provide aircrews with information and assistance necessary for planning and conducting safe flight operations. ***Indefinite positions are not permanent and have no guarantee to continued employment. Indefinite employees may be subject to separation from employment at any time with a 30 day written notification. If the position becomes permanent, employee may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition at management's discretion.***

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures related to Flight and Airfield Operations. Experience in airfield driving. Experience using computer and automation systems related to Flight Operations. *Trainees will be accepted* SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-2101-09 level, applicant must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in mission planning for preflight, in-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
