You will serve as a Secretary (Office Automation) in the Office of the Dean, Naval Postgraduate Dental School (NPDS) of NAV POSTGRADUATE DENTAL SCHOOL.
Duties
You will perform a variety of administrative support duties to include responding to command activities in support of mission.
You will brief all Department Heads on required administrative actions by the staff during the Dean's monthly chairmen's meeting.
Leading special event planning meetings, securing space arrangements, assisting the Dean in drafting agenda for topics to be discussed/presented.
You will receive telephone calls and visitors for the Dean and ascertain the nature of calls or business of visitors to determine the nature of request.
You will provide sole secretarial support to the vast majority of the 220 personnel within the directorate.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience utilizing administrative concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to perform independently such duties as eliminating conflict and duplication in extensive office procedures.
Experience utilizing travel regulations, correspondence management, command organization, and civilian time and attendance policies and procedures.
Experience utilizing proper format, preparation and established deadlines for officer fitness reports and enlisted evaluations.
Experience utilizing basic organization of Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) and the chains of command within Navy Medicine. Ability to determine proper lines of communication.
Experience utilizing accreditation standards for academic institutions standards set forth by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Postgraduate Dental College.
Experience utilizing automated office systems environments and computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation graphics.
Experience utilizing office automation software, procedures and practices to efficiently operate personal computer equipment.
Fully qualified typist.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) is essential. Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation in order to identify and correct grammatical errors and typed materials in final form.
