You will serve as a SECRETARY ( OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the OFFICE OF DEAN, Naval Postgraduate Dental School (NPDS) of NAV POSTGRADUATE DENTAL SCHOOL.

Duties

You will manage the flow of various request, advise and assists the Dean. You will draft replies to general inquires requiring basic technical knowledge or programs under control of the Dean. You will perform general office clerical support work requiring knowledge of office automation. You will review outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy. You will serve as the Performance Evaluation Coordinator for NPDS.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized Experience Examples of Qualifying Experience: - Experience using and comprehensive knowledge of administrative concepts, principles and practices sufficient to perform independently with time management and organization skills. - Experience communicating proficiently and possessing the ability to effectively convey ideas verbally and in writing, in meetings or in one-on-one discussions at all organization levels. - Experience with Navy organization structure, military, and civilian ranking system with an emphasis on the Naval Construction Force. - Experience using Microsoft Word, Access and Excel and other administrative programs. - Experience coordinating work/agendas for the Executive Suite with higher headquarters, internal staff and subordinate units. - Experience completing Navy Correspondence, awards processing, fitness reports, evaluations and the Defense Travel System (DTS). - Experience using protocol policy as defined in OPNAVINST.
