Duties
This position is located in the Office of Enforcement (OE) within the Division of Audits and Accounting (DAA). OE serves the public interest by ensuring effective regulations and protecting customers through understanding markets and their regulation, timely identifying and remedying market problems, assuring compliance with Commission rules and regulations, and detecting and crafting remedies to address market manipulation and other non-compliance issues.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- A background investigation is required.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Generally, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Relocation expenses will not be paid.
- You may be required to divest certain energy-related securities.

You must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience leading major auditing, accounting, or other projects involving extremely complex and pioneering matters on behalf of, or before, the Commission, other energy regulatory authorities, a major electric, oil pipeline carrier or natural gas company, an energy industry association, or the Securities and Exchange Commission. Experience leading major projects involving the research, analysis, and communication of solutions to address extremely complex and pioneering auditing, accounting, ratemaking, or energy market matters.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
