About the Position: This position is located at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, Texas.
Duties
Provide information to the supervisor on work status, quality, and speed of work performed.
Explain work requirements, methods and procedures, and instruct subordinates of any new procedures.
Check work in progress and when finished, check for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
Explain Room Service concept to patients.
Ensure accuracy of delivered trays by checking menu items on the tray with those ordered on the menu and/or diet roster and initiating corrective action where required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Moderate to heavy lifting may be required.
- This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
- This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

Physical Effort: Work involves moderate physical effort. Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require the employee to continuously stand, walk, stoop, bend, push, pull, and reach. Must frequently lift and carry supplies, materials, or equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is performed predominantly in kitchen and dining areas. Areas are often uncomfortably warm and noisy. Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used and slippery floors; exposed to dirt, grease, and water in cleaning tasks. Incumbent is subject to extremes in temperature of hot kitchens and walk-in refrigerators. Shift work may be required by the position.
