You will serve as a Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Activities) of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will use program policies and procedures in planning the activities of a recreation program for a military community. You will complete a daily activity report to give status of recreational activity services. You will set up and monitor demonstrations, training, and events for the facility.

Requirements

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Discussing with customers their needs for the facility to ensure daily tasks are met; 2) Demonstrating activities and/or the use of related facility equipment to verify proper use; 3) Interpreting facility policies and procedures to ensure facility goals are met; 4) Carrying objects up to 45 pounds and/or heavier object with assistance; 5) Operating a tractor without assistance to compete daily tasks; 6) Understanding REC trac systems and/or the operation and towing of power boats Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed four years of education above high school level leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in courses related to recreation or physical education. OR

Have a combination of experience and post high school education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
