About the Position: This position is for Family Medicine at Evans Army Community Hospital located in Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Perform a range of diagnostic examinations and treatments according to clinic processes and procedures. Prepare patients and rooms for patient care activities, examinations and diagnostic tests. Set up equipment and instrument and hands instruments to health care providers. Clean wounds and applies bandages after suturing and assists in removal of sutures, staples and dressings. Take and record accurate vital signs and other required measurements. Verify patient's eligibility for treatment. Obtain lab samples, perform point of care testing, and deliver specimens directly to the lab.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• All employees assigned to a MTF are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk, and are subject to missing/required immunizations IAW AR 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
• This position may have specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a regular and reoccurring basis.
• This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA FORM 5019.
• A pre-employment physical is required.
• This is an inclement weather position.
• May be required to work rotating/irregular shifts and periodic on-call status, as mission requires.
• BLS Certification/Training is required.
• Heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be required.
• Medical Assistant Certification within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirement requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes documented experience which demonstrates experience: performing non-professional nursing/medical assistance work assisting Health Care Providers with medical exams; administering immunizations and medications ordered by the health care providers; and obtaining specimens (blood, mucus, urine, etc.) for laboratory testing. OR Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
