Duties

You will plan advanced Tomahawk Land Attack Missile and Hypersonic Weapons mission planning to ensure CCDRs requirements are achieved while in compliance with legal and regulatory directives ensuring commander’s intent is met. You will develop and maintain the highest level of Tomahawk Planning System (TPS) and Hypersonic Weapons Planning System (HWPS) proficiency within the Department of Defense (DOD). You will interpret and apply the commander’s guidance and intent, country specific guidance, and mission requirements in a Joint environment. You will independently decide when a mission plan is complete and ready to be submitted into the technical approval process. You will identify requirement and initiate requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret / SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) and Hypersonic Weapons (HSW) system mission planning, distribution and execution processes and procedures and weapon systems complimentary to TLAM and HSW to effectively develop hypotheses, theories, collaborate, integrate, adapt, influence and significantly impact the operational plans and strategic policy decisions supporting POTUS, SECDEF, and the supported Joint Task Force or Geographic Combatant Commanders. Applying knowledge of kinetic and non-kinetic threats to TLAM and HSW to apply, evaluate and address established and theoretical risk to current and projected operational areas of interest. Devising innovative solutions to monitor, track, report, and minimize risk or defeat. Applying quantitative and qualitative techniques and methodologies to analyze complex plans, strike rehearsals, and exercise scenarios, articulate observations and findings, and implement solutions to enhance overall mission/combat readiness. Identifying emergent or evolving operational requirements to evaluate and validate varied data sources, and coordinate the evaluation and selection of data management tools.
