Duty Location: Clark County, Nevada
Duties
Performs a a variety of journeyman maintenance, installation, and repair tasks:
Carpentry: framing wood and metal walls, floors, openings, and ceilings; layout/install suspended ceilings; build crates, pallets, stairs, and rails; install sheetrock, insulation and soundboard; and apply weather stripping.
Masonry: building/setting forms, stripping forms for flatwork and structures to include layout, patching/repair of concrete and masonry; laying brick, block and stone; layout/install footings, layout/tie steel reinforcement, setup/operate core drill.
Painting: apply primers, epoxies, stains, paints, and solvents; resin based concrete patch; install/replace glass; apply joint compound, tape, and coat; drywall texturing; cut stencils, prepare surfaces by washing, sanding, wire brushing, scraping or sandblasting.
Plumbing: layout/install ceramic fixtures, fabricate brackets for hanging pipes, install/repair low pressure air and water systems, gas welding and cutting, pipefitting, repair/unclog drains and sewer lines, and install/repair piping up to 3 inches in diameter and pipe insulation.
HVAC: Preventative maintenance and minor repair for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, install/repair locks, safety inspection of powerplant and structures, inventory tools, inspect air and water lines, and perform traffic control (flagman).
Performs other various general house-keeping and facility maintenance tasks to include operating hand and power tools, operating equipment, various general house keeping and facility maintenance tasks such as, but not limited to, general work area clean-up, changing light bulbs, descaling, adding chemicals to applicable systems, etc., as well as other related duties as assigned to support maintenance, remodel, and repair of buildings and facilities.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.
You must be a fully skilled journeyman in at least one of the following trades: Carpentry, HVAC, Masonry, Painting OR Plumbing - this experience must clearly be reflected on your resume or your application will be marked as not qualified.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, valid Driver License. Failure to provide proof of such license will cause you to be rated ineligible for this position.
