This vacancy is for a Legislative Analyst in the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.

Duties

As a Legislative Analyst, you will: Serve as an analyst utilizing knowledge of Capitol Hill congressional procedures to perform legislative analysis, and related casework. Develop, evaluate and facilitate communication between congressional and intergovernmental stakeholders to further-trade objectives, i.e., communication between Congressional Committees, including the elected officials serving on those committees, and their respective staff. Develop, maintain, and improve (internal) webpage and (external) electronic messaging tool. Draft testimony, as needed. To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must meet the specialized experience requirement described below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Performing legislative analysis to assess programs, and hearing preparation to include drafting testimonies both oral and written. Experience developing or maintaining relationships with congressional or intergovernmental stakeholders; Experience developing legislative strategy. Experience working with congressional, gubernatorial, or mayoral offices. Experience making recommendations to Management.
