The employee serves as Painter within the Facilities Management Service at the Orlando VA Healthcare Center located in Orange County, Florida.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Painting one-of-a-kind pieces of casework such as consoles and cabinets.
Work from oral instructions, blueprints, work orders and rough sketches.
Plan and lay out work to be done, select the proper tools, determine materials to be used and accomplish the work in accordance with appropriate methods and accepted trade practices.
Ensure site is clean of all debris and equipment upon completion of work.
Erect or suspend scaffolding in the performance of duties and be responsible for the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Mix all types of paints such as base coat paint, interior paints and finishing exterior paints.
Skilled in the application of paints in around door frames, window frames, walls as well as molding and base cover and in accenting areas.
Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, Tuesday-Saturday, Monday-Friday: 6:30 am-3:00 pm, 7:00 am-3:30 pm, 7:30 am-4:00 pm, 3:00 pm-11:30 pm

Physical Requirements: Work is performed inside and outside,sometimes in bad weather, wet, cramped locations. Must always be aware of safety hazards and know what action should be taken to avoid them. Must observe all local and National Safety Codes. Must know and comply with all safety factors of the various trades to prevent fires and injury to patients and personnel.
