You will serve as a Interdisciplinary Engineer or computer scientist in the Test and Evaluation Department, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Keyport in the Cyber Engineering Branch, Systems Security and Engineering Division of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
Duties
You will identify current and future risks due to cyber vulnerabilities, hardware and software obsolescence, and others.
You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and network services, data, and capabilities.
You will provide expert technical advice and guidance to senior management officials in the appropriate application of technology to agency mission and programs.
You will define and identify measures of success, accurately identifying anomalies and conditions that preclude the effective exercise of the levels of security necessary to protect systems, data, and networks from compromise.
You will function as a senior Systems Engineer, with overall supervision, management, integration, and budgeting of the Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HME) Technical Refresh Plan.
You will manage the CLB HME Technical Refresh Program to mitigate risk of obsolescence to the material and software availability of the CLB Class Submarines.
You will coordinate with the technical community to develop a HME Technical Refresh Plan to sustain the HME systems under PMS 397 cognizance.

- The 1550 position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 1550 level 13 Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band GS-12 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer or Scientist applying principles of professional systems engineering and computer science to mitigate material, hardware, and software risks within hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E) systems integration projects, for program and mission success.

Professional Engineer Series, 08XX:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
Professional Computer Science Series, 1550:
Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in computer science
or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
